Search for Best POC on Going

Malaybalay City - The evaluation for the search for best peace and order council in the province of Bukidnon is still going on.

This was disclosed by Cesar Apao, provincial spokesperson in an interview over DXDB Radyo Bandilyo.

According to Apao, the search for best POC were categorized intro three namely; city category, municipal category A and B.

The evaluation was started last November 6, and is scheduled to commence this coming November 26, this year.

Apao also revealed that the evaluation team were composed of eight (8) members representing from government offices and from private sector.

"As of now (November 22, 2007 ) almost southern portion of the province were evaluated and the northern portion will be followed. In fact today our schedule are Talakag ang Baungon", Apao stated.

The winners for the best POC in the province will vie for the regional level and hopefully for the national level.

Apao also said that Governor Jose Ma. Zubiri highly supports the Search for Best POC provincial level.

The said search is in line with the program of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) urging all local government units to strengthen its peace and order plan within its area of jurisdiction.

Transco Due To Be Privatized

Malaybalay City - Few days from now, the National Transmission Corporation (TRANSCO) will be privatized.

This was disclosed by Transco Information Officer Raffy Magbanua during an interaction with members of Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) Bukidnon.

According to Magbanua, based on timetable, this coming December 12 will be the schedule for final bidding contested by three big bidders to choose from.

"This is the time to know the company who will take-over the operation of Transco", he said.

However, he clarified that the privatization will cover only the management and maintenance of the operation while the current equipments are still under the ownership of the government.

"I myself and all employees of Transco don't know yet what will happen to us, by the time the new management will takeover after the transition period", Magbanua clarified.

The privatization of Transco aim to improved the services of the company however the public expressed fear that it mighty result to the increase of electricity bill.

The National Transmission Corporation is a distribution arm of National Power Corporation (NAPOCOR).
